Most of the time owning a scanner means less desk real state. Today it meant other things... like a leaf found in the backyard, wrinkly cling wrap from the kitchen, a chromatic plastic from an analog camera, and a bunch of other random stuff with interesting textures. It's always good to have some custom textures in your design tool-box.
